Hi folks,
I'm fitting my 1965 202 Super with a Power dynamo system, and have come up with a problem. There is confusion with the ignition timing because
there is two marks on the base plate, how do I determine the correct timing point?
Unfortunately the company is not answering my email enquiries.
Any advice would be welcome.
cheers
Al.

Re: 202 with Power Dynamo .
Welcome and congratulations on wise choice in the 202. I hope to have mine back together this year.....with any luck
Anyway, you probably already have the fitting instructions for your kit, but they are here just in case:

It seems the 202 needs a spacer for the engine cover to fit properly with the new ignition:

As to your 2 marks problem, the above fitting instructions indicate that there is one mark on the stator (base plate) plus one on the rotor that need to be aligned with the engine at TDC on the compression stroke. 2 marks suggests either the wrong kit (unlikely since the stator will be specific to the Gilera engine) or perhaps one of the marks is for TDC and the other is for checking advance with the engine fired up (perhaps an updated version of the kit that the instructions haven't caught up with ??). I can only suggest that you put up some photos so that we can try to make some assessment judgements based on those.....otherwise keep trying to contact the manufacturer.
