Keith, welcome, the list I have doesn't show a model with chassis number '180', the closest is 189 (see attachment) but the list may not be complete. Someone else may have a complete list and chime in. In the meantime, perhaps put up a picture of your bike and the engine/frame numbers as that might also help with identification.

This bike...

....has the same '180' prefix for engine and frame numbers plus a lot of other similarities to yours. Along with the date on the casting, this strongly suggests your Gilera is a 1958 rossa extra 175.

Hi Keith, great bike! It looks very original, is it running and driving? I am curious what plans you have in mind for it?
Lambs got it almost right, prefix *180- means that it is in fact a G 175 Extra, aka the black sister of the G 175 Rossa Extra.
The 175 Extra (in Italy sometimes referred to as Nero Extra) has a red on black colour scheme, handlebars and a single exhaust.
The 175 Rossa Extra is red on white, has factory clip ons and a double exhaust and a has a whopping 0,5 bhp more than the Extra.

You can find a parts manual for the Extra and Rossa Extra model at https://www.rpw.it/Files/Gilera_175_E_RE_CPR.pdf

Please keep us posted of the future progress that you make!

Hi Nozem, no it's not running at the moment, just in process of painting and cleaning.

It does have a tax disc from Italy, last taxed 1965

Do you know the spoke length, when I striped it to have parts polished I wrote the sizes down, but I have lost the book I had the information in.

I require pair of wheel rims and spokes.

I also require a primary chain tensioner,

Pair of fork legs

If you have any other info I would be grateful

Keith
