Well its been a long time but its nice to be back.

After selling my custom Gilera Saturno a few years back, I still dont own another yet but I do work on them for people
and (very happily) am known as a bit of a specialist due to owning around 6 of them when I lived in Japan and now back in Australia.

I have a customer who boiled his rear caliper after we adjusted the foot controls to what he felt was his liking; on the way home he was 'leaning' on his brake pedal without realising it and the transferred friction cooked the lot. Even warped the backing plates!
I am now restoring the rear end from the shower of hot brake fluid.

The Gilera/Grimeca unit is actually quite nice. It is light and has anodised pistons. and once cleaned up all looks good.

But I cant find a seal kit for the 32/16mm pistons. I can find a piston and o-ring kit but I don't want that, I just want seals.

Can anyone point me to a link please?

Saturno and Nordies should have the same rear brake caliper.

This sealing kit should fit, but i did not know if it's easy to get or not.

customhead, where are you in Australia? I am up near Byron Bay. I have a near complete Grimeca rear brake caliper. Let me know what part you need and I could post them to you. Do you have any knowledge of a generic (possibly KTM) temperature water sensor radiator fan switch For a Gilera Saturno 500. I don't know if my works but the fan does not come on when the needle gets into the red on a hot day. But, the fan is working okay when I complete the circuit. regards Leo W

Thread is M14x1,5
2 contact tabs 6,3mm

I suppose it will switch ON at 92° and will switch OFF again at 84°C

KTM or Husky should fit. Maybe something from Fiat, Alfa, Lancia will also do it.

They claim 95° but in the text and on the unit itself i can read 85°
That's the temperatur it will switch ON
Maybe it's not bad to switch on a little earlier. But i suppose 85 or 92° will not be that much difference.
So at that price it may be worth a try.
If it works and you did not trust the china parts, you can still buy an original KTM part

I am in South East Queensland and own True Grit Motorcycles.

Soemtimes there is a problem with the pistons.
Due to wear it will stuck in the cylinder from time to time
