I just saw the pictures of the new cagiva mito 500.(husky 510 engine in mito frame)
it should have 60+bhp and the weight only 133 kg.
this sounds prommissing and the bike looks good.
but after all it is only a copy of an allmost 20 year old saturno. (but a good try)

Hi, Hi,

nothing special.
12 years ago there was a lonely Mito framework and a lonely Nordwest engine meeting together, see what happened:
...here is a not so lonely BMW F 650 engine in a Cagiva Mito Frame.
Bike is with TUEV (at least it got proper paperwork once :D ).

German road legal???

The Mito has a aluminium frame. How did you (both) fix the engine?
Everything by adapters and screws?
Or did you weld something at the frame?

ciao Joachim <just curious>

Hi Joachim,

this one is not the only street legal one in Germany.
These engines had also been fitted in Aprilia RS 125 frames (also aluminium).

In my case I use the original rear engine connection (also die hintere Motoraufhaengung) for the swing arm (its a Husky swing arm - the Mito has a "banana swing" for left side chain drive - the F 650 has a right side chain drive.
For the front engine connection an adapter plate is used (here you adjust the actual position of the engine in the frame).
Top engine connection with a small aluminium pipe subframe, mounted with adaptor plates to the original frame.
