I am about to embark on the journey into the unknown that is the slipping starter clutch. Is it a fairly straightforward job, and is there anything i should be wary of? I have the tool for pulling off the gen. rotor but will i need any other special tooling? Thanks in advance. Mick.......

No - you don“t need any other special tools. Do you want to simply replace it or do you want to repair the old one?

Hi, The unkown  I am about to do the same job :D . I have made the flywheel generator puller. What is involved in repairing rather than replacing the starter clutch? :?: The only thing holding me back at present is this cold spell here in england my workshop is not heated.

I have bought the outerace and the 'sprag' roller assembly from Bob Wright. If i can repair it whilst the bike is in bits i will though......

All done and back together. Total time on the job was probably only around 5 hours. Not too bad really. Turns over nicely now! Cheers Bob and the guys!!
