I am about to embark on the journey into the unknown that is the slipping starter clutch. Is it a fairly straightforward job, and is there anything i should be wary of? I have the tool for pulling off the gen. rotor but will i need any other special tooling? Thanks in advance. Mick.......

No - you don“t need any other special tools. Do you want to simply replace it or do you want to repair the old one?

Hi, The unkown

I am about to do the same job

. I have made the flywheel generator puller. What is involved in repairing rather than replacing the starter clutch?

The only thing holding me back at present is this cold spell here in england my workshop is not heated.

I have bought the outerace and the 'sprag' roller assembly from Bob Wright. If i can repair it whilst the bike is in bits i will though......

All done and back together. Total time on the job was probably only around 5 hours. Not too bad really. Turns over nicely now! Cheers Bob and the guys!!
