Waterpump

I tried to fit a new waterpump to my RC600C as the old one was making a horrible squeaking noise.( I bought it 'new' from David Champion who used to run the English Gilera Network that seems to have died! He still has a Saturno though!!) Anyway it wont spin freely and seems to hit the metal part behind it. I thought the pump is the same on all the 558 engines - anyone help me?

Hello,
is the "new" waterpump for your RC600C from a Saturno-engine with less then 558cm³?
If it is a "normal" waterpump from the saturno with the 500cm³, it won't fit the 558er engine. There have some changes to be done - if you want to run it in your engine. "HP" has written something about this in his "-auf Wunsch des Beitragserstellers geloescht-" - stories. I don't know, if a english version exists - but I will try to look for it in the german texts and will post it here...
Otherwise I don't have any idea...
