Start with stickers works.....

Hi guys!!!
New genuine stickers for low fair of my Gilera XR1!
Here my historical documentation..... :D

How to set stickers:

1)
Image

2) about small stickers.... it's easy!
Image

3) when sticker it's large or have some holes into.... well.... cut a little part of his support paper

4) try to set the good position......
Image

5) ..... and after that paste it!
Image

6) leave out air drops with and air dryer (Be carefull! Not too close! You can dissolve stickers!!!)

Front fairings haves a lot of problems.... with little cracks a some scratches....

Hi guys!
Well..... I've leave out my fairings from boxes..... :shock:
Fairings were stored in boxes about 1 year and half ago.... :|
I've took apart all pieces and I've accurately examinated it.... :shock:
There are a lot of problems..... lot of scratches and some cracks..... :cry:
I must to leave out all stickers, restore fairings, re-paint all of it!!! :roll:
Uhm...... Boh! :?:

This is a fuc.... problem....*durchdreh*

Now, just when "I'm seeing the light", with hundred and hundred hours of hard work on my Gilera XR1....
Here the last problem....... *Lollo*
Well, both lateral stickers, fortunately found in England, in 20 years, without protection paper, have changed color!
They are dark blue!!!! (you can see the correct color in the rounded cropping sticker).*oh*

Incredible! I've found an other couple of lateral stickers for my Gilera XR1 fairings! :mrgreen:
In an historical Gilera dealer, near Arcore (near Milan). :wink:

First couple of stickers, in 20 years, without protection paper, have changed color! (dark blue!!!!)
And they have changed dimension too!!! *Lollo*

Maybe you have started at the wrong end ;)

Kreem is a good solution. It comes with a degreaser, a deruster and the sealing itself.
It is a mess (you have to heat up all these liquids over a time) to seal a tank by yourself, but it's worth.
I have done it twice. My Saturno #uno tank in '91 and on my old ('78) Y****a
I have just ordered a set for the second GFR fuel tank.
Be carefull (if you will do the work) the deruster is something like phosporic acid.
It will rapidly eat up your new painting if you manage to bring some of this stuff on your tank !
I prefer to seal the tank inside *before* starting the paint job ;)
Hope to get it done over the christmas time.
