Here how to fit an original couple of Paioli up-side down forks on a Gilera XR1.
Part 4):
Lock front iron pin (2 forks x 2 screws x 5 mm Allen key).


Lock forks on plates (2 forks x 4 screws x 5 mm Allen key).

Hi guys!
Well.......engine training it's going on......
Next week, when I'll go in vacancy, I'll use my Gilera XR1 in "INTENSIVE MODE"!!!!
Actually my engine have run for about 500 km.
All good. My Gilera XR1 have a good thrust from 4000 rpm to 6000 rpm....
..... here engine open APTS valve, and "music" change immediately!!!!
Actually I've run engine at about 8000 rpm; that's want to mean about 125 km/h... not bad!!!
In future we'll see maximum speed and others performance!

Here my Gilera XR1 16 months ago.....

Training in progress......
Engine it's good and strong from 4000 rpm to 8000 rpm....
Now.... next days, it will be time to try engine over 8000 rpm!
If APTS valve have a good setting, I think that I'll feel something that I don't see since 1988.....

As I've told you.... actually, training it's in progress......
.... and I've done about 700 km....
Well.... I've tried to push engine over 8000 rpm.....
... N O T H I N G!
I mean nothing!
This make me crazy!
I'm re-making in my mind every spare part that I've changed in my Gilera XR1....
.... and every part that I've taken apart and I've re-assembled....
Boh!
In 6th gear, engine runs good from minimum to 8000 rpm...... and here.... stop!

- APTS setting?
- carburetor setting?

This time I'm really perplexed!

At the GFR it's about 7000, 7500 rpm.
As yours is the older engine and a dirt bike I suppose it should open at lower revs.
Can you somehow see/hear that your APTS is working?
The electrical system of the GFR test itself everytime you turn on the key.
Did the pneumatic system offer something like this?
I think it is not the carb

APTS valve open correctly at 6000 rpm, when I start to heard a caracteristic "ZZZZZZZZ", and.....
..... after that at 6500 rpm "PpppeeeeEEEEEE" and at 7000 rpm "PEEEEE!!!!"....
.... and over 7500 rpm "ROAR!!!!"

As yours is the older engine and a dirt bike I suppose it should open at lower revs.

Dirt bike???? I wash my Gilera XR1 every saturday!!!!

Well.... APTS 2 don't offer this precious process, because it's a mechanic system:
a centrifugal device, with contrast coil, operates on a hub gear keyed in the right carter,....
.... and then moves the APTS valve leverage.

I think it is not the carb

Uhm..... I'm thinking at carburetor, just because I've put into an heavier fuel floater (9 gr.)....
..... instead of the original fuel floater (6,5 gr.)....
What do you think about it?
Not good.....????

Hi guys!
Today, in the afternoon I'll try to check better my Gilera XR1.
Engine arrive just at 8000 rpm in 6th gear....
My God!
I'm thinking at air filter..... maybe to much oil..... Boh!
.... or carburetor fuel floater, to much heavier (9 gr. instead 6,5 gr.).... Boh!
Now, I've a carburetor fuel floater of 6,5 gr. in good conditions for my Dell'Orto PHBH 28....

When I setted carburetor on engine, two years ago, I hadn't this floater! Boh!
